In-Process Surface Finishing of L-PBF Produced Parts using a MOPA Pulsed Laser

Novel in-situ surface finishing for laser metal 3D printing. 85% improvement in surface quality (~2 μm Ra) and 12× better dimensional accuracy (±0.01 mm). Custom L-PBF machine design, opto-mechanical systems, automated computer-vision inspection.
